I’ve always enjoyed photography. As a Father of five beautiful children, documenting their childhood became a favorite pastime of mine. My choice of Portraiture style comes from an interest in what others perceive beauty is, and how best to evoke an emotional connection using the medium. The mission of Belles & Beaux Portraits, is to capture mood and a clients individuality, through the use of light and composition. Inspiration for this style of photography,  has developed from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema which was still in its infancy. Light, composition, and fashion, were the key elements of a style that launched an entire industry to literal Stardom. This is a style that made Norma Shearer, Gloria Swanson, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow and Marlene Dietrich the superstars they were then, and continue to be today. I feel the techniques used are fundamentally as valid, and impressive now in this “digital age” as they were when first implemented.

Employing digital capture and accompanying post production, as well as film media with corresponding traditional wet darkroom techniques, Belles & Beaux produces high quality archival images, which will have great meaning, due to their association with a person.
